youYou can share the mobile data connection of your mobile phone, allowing other mobile phones, tablets or computers to connect to the Internet. This way of sharing connections is called “network sharing”, which is the use of wireless base stations. Some mobile phones can share Wi-Fi connections through tethering.
Most Android phones can share mobile data via Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth or USB.
Important note: Some mobile operators may impose restrictions or charge additional fees for network sharing. It is recommended that you consult the telecommunications company for relevant regulations.
Important note: Some steps in this article only apply to Android 9 and above. Learn how to check the Android version .
Turn on the wireless base station
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap the “Wireless Access Point” icon Wi-Fi wireless base station.
. If you do not see the icon “radio base station” Wi-Fi wireless base station, tap “Edit” icon in the lower left edit, and then the “hotspot.” Icon Wi-Fi wireless base stationand drag it to Quick Settings.
Connect other devices to the wireless base station of your phone
- Open the Wi-Fi options list on other devices.
- Select the name of the wireless access point of your mobile phone.
- Enter the wireless base station password of your mobile phone.
- Click “Connect”.
To set the wireless access point to connect without entering a password, please follow the steps below:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Press and hold the “wireless base station” icon Wi-Fi wireless base station.
- Under “Security”, tap [None].

Choose how to share the network
Share network via Wi-Fi
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Press and hold the “wireless base station” icon Wi-Fi wireless base station.
- Turn on [Wi-Fi wireless base station].

Share data connection via Bluetooth
- Pair your phone with other devices .
- Set up the network connection of other devices via Bluetooth.
- Swipe down from the top of the phone’s screen.
- Press and hold the “wireless base station” icon Wi-Fi wireless base station.
- Turn on [Bluetooth tethering].
Share network via USB cable
Important notes:Android devices cannot share the network with Mac computers via USB.
- Use a USB cable to connect your phone to other devices, and related notifications will be displayed at the top of the screen.
- Swipe down from the top of the phone’s screen.
- Press and hold the “wireless base station” icon Wi-Fi wireless base station.
- Open [USB Tethering].
Extend battery life when sharing data connections
Connect the device to the power source during network sharing.
After use, turn off the network sharing function.
If your mobile phone can turn off the wireless access point when no device is connected, please enable this setting.

Turn sharing on or off
- Confirm that the phone has turned on Bluetooth and location functions.

- Open the “Settings” application.
- Tap [Google] in order Next step [Device and Sharing] Next step [Nearby Sharing] Next step [Open] Or [close].
Share content with others
Important : Your friend must accept the content you send. Learn how to get content shared by others .
- Open content, such as photos or web pages.
- Tap the “Share” icon share Next step”Nearby Sharing”Icon .
You may have to tap [Open].
- Keep your phone and your friend’s device next to each other.
- Under “Looking for nearby devices,” tap your friend’s device.
- After the content transfer is complete, tap [Finish].
Receive content from others
- You will receive a notification stating that someone wants to share content.
.If you haven’t tapped the notification yet, perform this action to let the other person see your device.
. .If the system asks you to turn on proximity sharing, Bluetooth or location functions, please tap [Enable].
.If you have not received the notification, or your friend can’t find your device, please use these steps to fix the content sharing related issues.
- To receive the content, please tap [Accept].
Choose who can share with you
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap the “Share Nearby” icon .
.If you do not see the “Nearby” icon , swipe down twice from the top of the screen and touch the “Edit” icon editand then the “Nearby” icon and drag it to the Quick Settings.
- Select the desired option:
Everyone: When your device’s screen is turned on and unlocked, anyone nearby can see your device.
Contacts: When your device screen is turned on and unlocked, nearby contacts can see your device. You can choose to show the device to all contacts or only to specific contacts.
Hidden: If someone tries to share content with you, they can only see your device if you choose to show your device.
Fix issues related to shared content
If you can’t share or receive content, please try the following steps:
- i) To let the other party see your phone, swipe down from the top on the other party’s phone screen, and then tap the “Proximity Sharing” icon in the quick settings .
- ii) Make sure that the Bluetooth function of both mobile phones is turned on. Learn how to turn on the Bluetooth function .
iii)Confirm that the location functions of both phones are turned on. Learn how to turn on positioning .
iv)Place the devices nearby, keeping them within 1 foot (30 cm) of each other.
v)Turn on “Airplane Mode” and then turn it off again.
vi)Turn off the phone, then turn it back on.
vii)Wait for other phones to stop sharing content.
