Where can you buy Xbox series X in the UK?
In the afterglow of the Christmas rush, Xbox Series X supplies have slowed to a trickle, but that trickle is at least consistent. Stocks of consoles have been sporadic, with new batches usually sold out within five minutes of being posted. There has been more restocking at some retailers than others, most notably Game.
If you know where to start looking first, you’ll be better equipped to grab one when they appear. Here’s a shortlist of the places where you’ll probably find Xbox Series X.
Game
As one of three retailers selling Xbox All Access pay-as-you-go, Game offers the Xbox Series X when it is available. Currently, the scheme is unavailable. On 26 October, Microsoft offered a limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox series X for pre-order.
Amazon UK
The retailer last restocked Xbox series X consoles on 20 September, but there were so few available they only lasted for two minutes. The Xbox does not receive such protection from Amazon, whereas Sony’s next-generation console is restricted to Prime members. It’s vulnerable to automated bots and unscrupulous resellers, which is why it sells out in seconds.
Verify the payment and the delivery information to make sure it is up to date, and that you are signed into your own Amazon account. Try out Amazon Prime for 30 days if the Xbox series X is exclusive to members.
Microsoft Store
The Halo Infinite Xbox bundle preorders closed on 16 October and quickly sold out, and the Xbox Series X standard version closed on 7 September. Once again, the consoles sell out in minutes, so be quick.
Currys
The last time Xbox Series X restock was on 26 October. The Currys app is the best way to purchase the console when it is in stock. To do so, you have to add the console to your wish list and try out completing the whole purchase.
Argos
Recently, the retailer restocked only in a few locations on 20 October. If you have been using the console to check out, you will need to add it to your own wish list and simply click the buy button from within the app of Argos.
Smyths Toys
The Xbox series X was available at Smyths on 15 October. If the Xbox Series X is available in your own local branch, enter the postcode on the product page. Microsoft’s All Access program is hence offered by the three retailers, including Smyths Toys. On 24 September, the Xbox series X was yet no longer available to purchase all through that program.
AO
Despite being out of stock since 22 October, the Xbox series X was sold in a bundle for £614. In addition to the Xbox Series X, an extra controller, wireless gaming headset, and charging dock were included. The bundled accessories tend to reduce the profits of scalpers as they consume the profits of bundled accessories. Bundles remain in-stock longer since they’re slightly more expensive as well as less appealing to scalpers.
Box
On 22 October, the Xbox Series X was available at Box. Customers can register to be selected for a console at random in the retailer’s ballot by registering their interest. Register when the ballot opens. More ballots will be held as more stock is received.
Very
On 19 October, when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X was on sale, the Xbox series X was in stock. In addition to three months of Game Pass and an extra controller, customers could choose from a number of bundles.
EE
There was limited stock of mobile phones available on 26 October. Selecting “add to plan” at the EE Shop hence lets you spread the cost of the whole Xbox series X over the term of your entire EE contract. Add £45 a month to your current phone contract for 11 months and pay £10 upfront.
Asda
The retailer has sold out of its Xbox series X console since its online store stocked it on 27 September. Asda does not say when new stock will arrive, but check the store page over the coming weeks for new stock.
